Mr. Frank Rodriguez, Jr. was called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to his heavenly home on February 3, 2016 at the age of 63. Frank was born on February 1, 1953 in Lockhart, Texas. He was born to Francisco, Sr. and Gregoria Rodriguez. Frank is survived by his wife, Paula Rodriguez; two sons, Rev. Francisco Rodriguez III of Round Rock, TX and Joey Mercado of Lockhart, TX, two daughters, Corina (Mike) Peralez of Georgetown, TX and Liz (Alfonso) Sifuentes  of Lockhart, TX. Frank is also survived by seven brothers, Fidel Rodriguez, Joe G. (Gloria) Rodriguez, Larry (Hilda) Rodriguez, Vincent (Sylvia) Rodriguez, and Joe Phillip Rodriguez all of Lockhart, TX. Also Guadalupe (Jesusa) Rodriguez of Austin, TX and Albert Daniel Rodriguez of Clifton Park, NY; four sisters, Lydia (Isidro Jr.) Amaya, Nieves (Gregorio) Briceno, Veronica (Rick) Martinez all of Lockhart, TX. Rebecca Lee Vignali

Rebecca Lee Vignali, a precious young woman who had her entire life before her, peacefully passed through the gates of heaven on February 2, 2016 just shy of her nineteenth birthday. She had been attending Texas A&M at College Station as a full time student pursuing a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science which was her lifelong dream. She loved God’s creation and appreciated all living creatures. Her whole life has been dedicated to the love and care of animals big and small, on her family ranch and through her local 4-H chapter. She raised and showed a variety of animals including horses, goats, poultry, pigs, and rabbits. Rebecca was a wonderful influence on her friends, inviting them to church and sharing her strong faith. She was an active member of First Lockhart Baptist Church where she served and assisted in the AWANA’s ministry and Vacation Bible School. Many local and county organizations were the recipients of over 6,000 community service volunteer hours honorably and freely offered by Rebecca. Nancy N. Weiss

Nancy Nell Carlton was born April 6, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Melvin Walter (M.W.) and Nanabel Carlton. Nancy had two siblings, Anita and Walter. She attended schools in Yoakum, Nixon, Lockhart, the A.C.C. Academy at Abilene, and graduated from Southwest Texas State Teachers College with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Master's degree. Before she retired, she taught in a number of Texas schools, as well as in California. Nancy met Frank Weiss while she was at SWTSC and he was stationed at Camp Gary with the Air Corps. They married on March 26, 1948 at her parents' home. After retiring, Nancy returned to the family farm on Seawillow Road near Lockhart. She loved caring for her miniature horses, and one could always find her feeding baby squirrels, raccoons, stray cats and dogs, and her favorite, Orville the sugar glider. She inherited the love of plants from her dad, and she loved to walk on the hill by the house that was covered by wildflowers in the spring. Ervin O. Homann

Ervin O. Homann of Austin, TX passed away January 22, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in Mendoza, TX on April 1, 1931 to Emma (Scharschmidt) and Edwin Homann. Just before turning 20 years of age, Ervin was serving his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. He was a welder working with the 413th Ord Heavy Maintenance Company. After his discharge he married the love of his life Helen West in Niederwald, TX on July 25, 1953. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Homann (2015) and his sister Bonnie Raesz. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Homann; son, Ervin Ray Homann and his wife Terri; daughter, Shirley Early and her husband Jack; 10 grandchildren: Jonathan Patton, Patrick Patton, Jason Patton, Jack Early, Allen Homann, David Homann, Michael Homann, Shelley Homann, Crystal Homann and Katie Homann; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his three sons, Donald Young, of Lockhart, Bill Young, and wife Pam, of Lockhart, Barry Young, and wife Debra, of Spicewood; brother, Floyd Clayton Young; four grandchildren, Jennifer Young, Deane Young, Cole Young, and Chad English, and wife Rebecca. Thomas Cleveland Holland

Thomas Cleveland Holland, 93, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2016, surrounded by his family.  Thomas was born in Lockhart on January 29, 1922 to Cleveland Columbus and Tonie Holland.  In the 20's and 30's Thomas and his sister Georgia were raised by the Albert and Myrtle Schneider family. During World War II Thomas served in the Army Air Corps as a tail gunner on a B-17 bomber. His plane was shot down over Germany. He was captured and spent 10 months as a prisoner of war. Returning home to Lockhart, Thomas married Opal Lackey in 1946, who he called "the prettiest girl in town," and together they raised three children. Thomas worked as a mechanic, eventually owning his own business and becoming a Phillips 66 dealer. In the late 60's he began a 10 year teaching career at Lockhart Junior High School. His last business was Holland's Sales and Service where he worked until shortly before his death. In the 90's he built and flew his own airplane, developing a close friendship with his buddies at the Plane Talk Hanger at the Lockhart Airport. Orbin E. Voigt

Orbin Edward Voigt, of McMahan, Texas, peacefully passed from this world to his Heavenly Home at age 94 on January 5, 2016. He’s survived by his wife of 72 years, Illine McGee Voigt, children Karon Hudson (husband Wesley) and Weston Voigt (wife Peggy), siblings William Voigt and Helen Franks, and five granddaughters and ten great-grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as “Papa.” The fourth of eight children, Orbin was born in 1921 to Sam and Ella Voigt. He was a proud veteran of World War II, homebuilder, rancher, deacon at McMahan Baptist Church for over fifty years, and an avid outdoorsman, who was happiest while fishing and hunting. Despite his towering frame and often-too-honest sense of humor, Orbin had the most generous of hearts--a gentle giant, never afraid to tell those he loved that he cherished them. His playful smile and mischievous wink would always give him away. This hard-working man taught us the importance of taking care of those you love and the value of living for the Lord, whom he spent his life serving. Cyrus Fleetwood Richards, Jr. was born in Lockhart, TX, on December 27, 1922, in the home of his parents Senator Cyrus Fleetwood Richards Sr. and Gussie Baldridge Richards. He died on December 23, 2015 near his home in Onion Creek. He graduated from Lockhart High School in 1941, where he lettered in football and was president of his senior class.  He entered the University of Texas the summer of 1941. When Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, he, along with many of his classmates from high school and college, volunteered for duty. Richards served as the pilot of B-24 heavy bomber in the South Pacific Theater with missions over the Philippine Islands, and from Okinawa, to the China Coast and the Japanese mainland. When the war was over he returned to the University studying pre-law but never attended law school. After a brief venture in private business, he was hired by Jake Pickle and John Connally to work at their new radio station, KVET.
