Trinidad C. Baltierra, 82, of Lockhart slipped into Jesus arms September 22, 2016 at the age of 82 after her short battle with Breast Cancer. She was born February 6, 1934, in Pflugerville, Texas to Carmen Cedillo and Francesca Quiroz. She was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game if she could help it. She had a generous and loving heart which touched many lives with her presence. Trinidad was a loving wife of 64 years, a phenomenal mother and an amazing grandmother. Mrs. Baltierra is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Refugio Munoz Baltierra; her son, Bobby Baltierra and two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by 9 children, 5 sons, Vincent Baltierra (Kim) from Michigan, Jimmy Baltierra (Mary) of Austin, Danny Baltierra of Houston, Hector Baltierra (Debbie) of Austin, and Ruben Baltierra (Rebecca) of Italy; 4 daughters, Diane Barker (Clay) of Elgin, Frances Baltierra-Hubbard (David) of Lockhart, Maryann Rocha (Henry) of Buda, and Sylvia Vasquez (Jessie) of Florida; one brother, Ramon Cedillo of El Paso; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gilbert A. Wallace; two sons, Gary A. Wallace and wife, Shirley of Alvin, Texas, Ronnie L. Wallace and wife, Lynda of San Marcos and their 5 children. Myra Michelle Butler was born on September 9, 1974, in Beeville, Texas.  At the time of her death, Myra was a resident of Spring, Harris County, Texas.  Myra attended Masonic Home and School of Texas, where she made many lifelong friends.  She also attended James E. Taylor High School in Katy, Texas,  and Sam Houston State University where she studied Marketing and Psychology.   Myra was an accomplished tennis player and was on the tennis team in high school.  Another passion of Myra’s was cooking.  She was a great cook and was always creating a new recipe.  Her Chicken N’ Dumplings were her son Brandon’s favorite. Myra was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roy C.A. Butler; grandmother, Myradelle Margaret Butler; mother, Brenda Faye Butler; brother, James Roger Butler; cousin, George Lincecum and uncle, Roy Butler. Myra is survived by her son, Brandon Hardcastle; sister, Angelica Danielle Butler; aunts, Sherry Butler Taylor and Linda Kaye Gittlen; cousins, Michelle Elaine Funderburk and James Butler Funderburk.  She also leaves behind many extended family members as well as her treasured friends. Kate Ellis “Tiny” Lipscomb Coopwood

Tiny was born Oct. 9, 1912, and passed away Sept. 17, 2016. Tiny was born in Lockhart, Texas, the youngest of four children (Travis, Joe Bailey, and Tootsie) of Elisha Hulme and Georgia Robuck Lipscomb.  Her childhood was a happy one, attending Lockhart public schools and participating in many activities including learning the Charleston, the dance rage of the era.  After graduation from LHS in May 1930, she enrolled at Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos.  Then the bottom dropped out! In the midst of the Depression, her father died in November 1930.  She was able to complete one year of college but then had to drop out to help the family.  A job was available at the Glenvoir School, five miles west of Lockhart.  Glenvoir was a school funded by Mr. Martindale for the children of migrant workers.  She taught there for four and a half years thru 1935. While teaching, Tiny became reacquainted with Dr. Joseph Bennett Coopwood, who returned to practice in Lockhart after his father, Dr. Thomas Benton Coopwood, died in August 1932.  They were married Dec. ...

Samuel Henry Culpepper, 82, of Lockhart, Texas passed away on September 8, 2016. He was born on December 12, 1933 in Anson, Texas to William Newton and Mary Beatrice Culpepper. He was a member of the First Lockhart Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, and also a member of the Sunday school Harvesters Class. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, dominos and 42 and working in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Marie Culpepper; two sons, Samuel LaWayne Culpepper (Gay) of Lockhart, Texas and Clendon LaVon Culpepper (Linda) of Henderson, Texas; brother-in-law, Merle Arnold of Shawnee, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, son, father and brother. He was very much loved and a respected man and also a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Jimmy Glenn Foreman, 84, of Schertz, Texas passed away on August 30, 2016. He was born on August 7, 1932 in Great Bend, Kansas to John Gilbert and Rubie Lee Foreman. He liked reading and woodworking; he retired from the United Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years of service. He lived by “Honor, Service and Devotion to duty” in everyday life. Dad made sure every child, grandchild, and great grandchild received a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas card every year without fail. She loved playing cards, watching movies; and also loved to be amongst her close friends. She is survived by four brothers, Pedro Cortez (Adelita ) of Kyle, Tony Cortez (Lydia) of Lockhart, Rick Cortez of Lockhart and Richard Cortez of Lockhart; one sister Connie Lara (Raul) of San Marcos; her favorite special aunt, Connie Alvarez, and belated uncle Arthur who would take her on special outings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald Ray Munoz, Sr.

Ronald Ray Munoz Sr., age 57, joined the kingdom of heaven on Monday morning, August 22, 2016, after a long battle with diabetes and heart failure at his home in Lockhart, TX. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Florinda, his children, Ronald Ray Jr., Cynthia Nicole and son-in-law Kevin Venanzi; his mother,  Lucy Silva Malaer; and brothers, Richard Lee, Randal Boyd, and James Dale.  He joins his father, William Charles Muñoz, who preceded him in death. Ronald was born in Lockhart, TX on April 16, 1959 where he graduated from Lockhart High School in 1978. He went on to marry his wife on October 20, 1979 and enlisted in the National Guard. He served the guard for 15 years as a Unit Armorer and a crewman on a self-propelled gun. Before retiring, Ronald worked in transportation as a school bus driver and the Texas State Library and Archives. In his free time, he enjoyed building and painting 1/35 scale military models and watching movies with his family. Services for Edgar Earl “Shorty” Hanks, 82, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas are set for noon on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas.  Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday.  Burial will follow the service at Bunton Cemetery in Dale, Texas.  He died on Friday evening at the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. Edgar Earl Hanks was born March 2, 1934 in Gonzales, Texas, the fourth child of James Virgil Hanks, Sr. and Minnie Hopkins Hanks.  He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1952 where he played football, basketball, and ran track.  He was voted most athletic male athlete his senior year. Shorty married Laura Ann Quicksall from Kirby, Texas in 1958.  Laura passed in 1991 and Shorty remarried in 1994 to Olene Lampton Hanks.  He worked for the H.B. Zachry Construction Company for 38 years as a superintendent and project manager building power plants in Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico.  He retired in 1996. Terrell Ellis Clark

Terrell Ellis Clark passed from his earthly life on August 4, 2016 at the age of 96.  He was born January 8, 1920 in McMahan, Texas. He was the son of Terrell R. and Corry Robertson Clark. He married Hazel Alene McWhorter in Lockhart Texas July 14, 1948. Terrell Ellis Clark served as an airplane mechanic and a sergeant in the Anny Air Corp in India during World War II. After the war, he returned to Lockhart and farmed and ranched for over 70 years. He was a good steward of the land was recognized as Caldwell County Agri-businessman of the year. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers and sisters, William Tad Clark, Carl Robertson Clark, Robert Nye Clark, Bula Escue, Jewell Minnette Moore, Ella Marie Lawler, Ruth Ewald and Cora Clark. He lost his eldest son Terrell Edward Clark in 1972. He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Alene Clark; son, William Robert Clark and wife Anne J.
