Charles Randall Johnson, “Randy”

Charles Randall Johnson, “Randy”, was 37 years old, born April 15th, 1979.  He resided in Lockhart with his wife Cassandra Peralez Johnson, four daughters, Imani Brielle, Deanna Aniah, Kalani Denise, and Sariah Renee Johnson. He is survived by his father Charles Frederick Johnson, three sisters, Danielle Pate, Joy Kerley Johnson, and Susan E. Johnson, and one brother Jimmie Duane Pate.  He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Deanna Johnson, and a nephew, Damen Weaver. His sudden death leaves a heartache that only God can heal.  He passed away while on a deep sea fishing trip, doing what he loved.  Randy also loved to barbecue, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns football teams. Randy led a very well established and loyal career as a talented plumber and was employed by HHCC Inc. for six years. Mary Christine Hewitt, 86, of Hutto, Texas passed away on April 25, 2016. She was born on July 12, 1929 in Bowie, Texas to Elder and Billie Woolf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Buckner Hewitt and brother, Don Woolf. Myrtle Blanche Reeb Schneider passed away peacefully on April 2, 2016 at her home Austin. Myrtle “Blanche” Schneider was born on April 13, 1930 in Lockhart, Texas to Myrtle Blanche Polly and Albert Schneider.  Blanche attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and later completed her education at a business college in Austin. Blanche met Robert Joseph Reeb at a dance at Moody Air Force Base Officers club while visiting her sister Joyce in Georgia. Bob and Blanche were the first couple to marry at the First Lockhart Methodist Church on March 22, 1953.  Blanche then followed her husband Bob and his career in the Unites States Air Force to San Antonio, Naples, Italy, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Washington DC, having 4 children along the way before retiring in Lockhart. Blanche was a stay at home mother while her children were young. When her children were older, Blanche started to work part time as secretary of the First United Methodist Church of Lockhart.  Blanche later began selling real estate and eventually became a broker and owner of Reeb Real Estate. Jesus Zavala Parra of Lockhart, Texas was called home by our Heavenly Father on March 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 24, 1933 in Martindale, Texas to Thomas and Ramona Parra Sr. He served as a Private First Class in the US Army during the Korean War. He lived in Lockhart for most of his life and worked as an auto mechanic at Glosserman Chevrolet for 35 years where his passion was working on cars. He enjoyed tinkering around in the backyard, taking pictures, playing music and playing outside with his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Catalina Juarez, Dolores Castillo, Antonio Parra Sr. and Margarito Parra. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Gallegos Parra, his eldest son Stephen Parra and spouse Bertha and his youngest son Jesse Parra Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Adrianna, KD, Monica, Audrey, Nikolas, Gabriela and Cash; great-grandchildren, Mya and Michael; four brothers: Frank, Juan, Thomas Jr. and Henry and including a large, loving and extended family. Norman B. Chambliss

Norman Buford Chambliss, 85, of Dale, Texas, passed away March 6, 2016 at the Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos.  Norman was born October 16, 1930, in Dale, Texas to Leonard Alexander Chambliss and Velma Ann Martin Chambliss. His father worked in the oilfield and he spent much of his younger years in the Darst Creek Area.  He graduated from Dowdy High School in 1948.  Some of his favorite memories were of playing basketball and six man football at Dowdy High.  He then went to Southwest Texas State Teachers College for three years.  He then, along with his brother, Gene Chambliss, joined the United States Air Force.  He served stateside for four years as an aircraft mechanics instructor during the Korean Conflict.  While he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, he and a friend made trips to Vernon, Texas.  During one of those visits he met Georgia Mae Line at a soda shop.  They got married June 5, 1954.  During his time in the Air Force and the beginning of his career as a civilian instructor with the United States Air Force, he and Georgia added three daughters to their family.  Norman’s career with ...

Gabriel Barney born July 13th, 1985 passed away February 27th, 2016 of natural causes. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, father, mother, two brothers and two sisters. Gabriel was loved by many, but loved his family above all else. He was a strong man of God and lived a life that reflected his love for God. He was a loving father, a devoted husband and a fiercely loyal friend. He had a personality that could light up a room and had a charisma that made him a born leader. He was a friend to all who knew him and a confidant to many. He had a swagger and a quiet confidence that caused people twice his age to admire him. He was always the first to lend a helping hand. Onette retired as a Hospice Nurse in Austin, Texas where she took care of patients for many years. She loved working in her garden and visiting her Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. James E. Fielder

Jim went to meet our heavenly father on February 26, 2016 and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  He was born on April 14, 1941 in Lockhart, Texas and graduated from Lockhart High School in 1959.  He graduated from the University of Texas in 1963 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and earned his Masters of Business in 1984. Jim retired in 2005 as vice president and branch manager of American National Bank, now Sage Capital Bank.  Prior to ANB, Jim owned Assurance Mortgage Company and at varying times during his life, Jim also owned insurance and real estate agencies.  He began his career at Lockhart Savings and Loan and especially enjoyed the mortgage side of banking.  He liked helping his friends and customers into their dream homes. Kenneth “Pete” Kramer, Sr. of Dale, Texas passed away at home on February 20, 2016 at the age of 86 surrounded by his family. He was born in Austin, Texas on July 28, 1929 to Oscar and Clara (Baker) Kramer. Pete served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He married his wife, Lois Lankford in March of 1960 and they enjoyed 54 years together before her passing in 2014. Pete retired after 41 years as a plant manager at Capitol Aggregates in Austin. He loved to hunt and fish. Pete is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Kramer, 1 brother and 1 sister. Loucretia “Lou” Nelson Pittman passed through heaven’s gate into paradise on Sunday, February 14, 2016.  She made it just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day with her husband of 53 years in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was surrounded and comforted by family throughout her last days.  Lou was born on June 12, 1933, in Russell, OK, to Essie Louise Page and Otis Mansfield Nelson.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Kelso, her father, Otis Nelson, her husband, Lonnie Eugene Pittman, and her sister, Frances Nelson Simon. Lou’s gift to the world was her loving and welcoming spirit.  She truly never met a stranger.  Every time we entered a restaurant or any place where lots of people were gathered, Lou would scan the room and would seem to always find somebody she knew.  Lou was an entrepreneur with her husband.  They were in the grocery business for 25 years and the clothing business for 27 years.  In between the two business ventures she served as a secretary at Central Soya.  They enjoyed life together participating in many civic related activities.  She supported her husband’s service in World War II by participating in the ...
