Marcelleen “Marcy” Youngman, 70, of Lytton Springs, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born on July 1, 1944 in Westphalia, Iowa to Norbert Matthew and Dolores Elizabeth Gross. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; who also enjoyed being in many organizations like the Gifts for the Unborn, Ladies Alter Society, 4-H Leader, Texas Master Naturalist, and she was a past president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Thomas and Samuel Gross. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Fred Henry Youngman; three sons, David Youngman of Austin, Texas, Paul Youngman of Jacksonville, Texas and Steven Youngman of Lockhart, Texas; her daughter, Teresa Walton of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Dr. Randy Gross of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and James Gross of Manilla, Iowa; three sisters, MaryJane Brody of Omaha, Nebraska, Virginia Kruse of Harlan, Iowa and Lorie Bandow of Manilla, Iowa; and four granddaughters. Lawrence Schaefer, 80, of Lockhart, Texas passed away on February 27, 2015. He was born on November 27, 1934 in Niederwald, Texas to Egon and Lillie Schaefer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Yolanda Schaefer; two brothers, Rudolph and Hilbert Schaefer; and sister, Lillian Schaefer. Laura Marie Kunze, age 87 of Creedmoor, passed away March 2, after a 2 year battle with Heart Disease. Laura was born in Niederwald, Texas on May 25, 1927. Laura did community work for 30 plus years with the VFW Post 8925 in Austin, where she raised money for Cancer Research. Laura enjoyed sewing, word search puzzles, and most of all, being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will miss her but know, because of our faith in God instilled in us, we will see her again. She was preceded in death by parents and loving husband Walter Kunze and several brother and sisters. Clarence M. Newman

Clarence Mitchell Newman, 90, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015. Clarence grew up in Wallace Nebraska raised by Jefferson and Lula Newman. On August 24, 1947 he married the love of his life, Maxine Babcock. They shared 62 years together. They raised three children in Highlands, Texas where they were longtime residents. Clarence was a veteran of the US Army and a graduate from the University of Houston. He worked at the Hughes Tool Corporation for 33 years. After retirement he enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife in their RV and spending time with family. They moved to Dale, Texas in 1998. Clarence was a true Renaissance man. In his life he taught ballroom dancing, played the piano beautifully, was an artist, played pen pal chess and was a pilot. Clarence was adopted at birth and a highlight of his life was meeting his biological sister Lorna Tortorigi and her family at the age of 90. Annmarie Niemann was born in Staton Island, NY on March 28, 1947. She graduated high school and went to college to receive her real estate license. Her and her family moved to Austin where she worked in real estate. She met Emil Niemann in 1980 and they got married January 23, 1981. She moved to Lockhart where she worked as a bookkeeper for Walmart for 17 years. In 1999, she was diagnosed with M.S. She quit working and enjoyed the rest of her life on the farm. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Halle, Sr. and her brother, Richard Halle, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Emil Niemann; children, Donna Niemann, James Niemann, Sandra Niemann, Kenneth Niemann, Johnny Niemann, Mizzte Niemann, Emil Niemann, Jr. and wife, Rachel, Clifton Niemann, and Genna Slusler; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Daniel Minjarez

Daniel Minjarez, 74, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2014.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was born August 17, 1940 in San Antonio to Santos and Maria Minjarez.  After serving in the Army for eight years, Dan worked his way up from a host at the Tower of Americas in San Antonio to Division Manager of Jim’s Restaurants in Austin.  In 2005, he began a second career as a systems analyst for the Texas Department of Insurance, where he worked until his death. Dan is survived by his wife of 24 years, Renee Minjarez; sons, Daniel Minjarez, Jr., Thomas Dougherty and Sean Powell; daughters, Sylvia Crum, Robin Adnson and Lisa Hoyt; and grandchildren, John Lyon, Austin Brown, Dustin Schulze, Sabrina and Sean Powell, Jr., Emily and Kendall Dougherty, and Alice and Teddy Hoyt. He will be remembered for his love for his family, thirst for knowledge, kind spirit and his positive outlook on life.  To be in his presence was to feel joyful and treasured, and that is his legacy. Chris "Chrissy" Loraine Burklund Schulze, 32, of Lockhart, passed away on January 23, 2015. Chrissy was born to Trischa Hess and Hollis Burklund on October 25, 1982.  She graduated from Lockhart High School, continued her education and was the legal secretary and office manager at the Law Office of Hollis Burklund for over ten years. Chrissy married Michael Schulze on October 2, 2004 in Maxwell, Texas.  She was a loving and supportive mother, wife, daughter and sibling. Chrissy's focus was always on her family and she was the center of family events. MaryAnn Elsie Schulle VanHorn Cheatham

MaryAnn Elsie Schulle VanHorn Cheatham passed away from this earth on November 14, 2014 at the age of 84 in Marble Falls, Texas after a short battle with cancer. She was born on July 25, 1930 in Maxwell, Texas. She attended the Blanco Star School and San Marcos High School. She was one of eleven children. MaryAnn lived a long, full, happy life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling, going to the lake, traveling, and watching and attending games of her favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros. One accomplishment she was most proud of in her life was working as a Nursing Home Administrator at the Golden Age Home in Lockhart, Texas. MaryAnn always said she was so fortunate to have been married to two really great men. She married the late Leonard VanHorn in 1950 and the late Clarence Cheatham in 1977. She loved them both dearly. She was also preceded in death by eight siblings.
