She is survived by her husband, Ramon Cantu; son, Ramon Cantu Jr. and daughter, Blanca Verastegui.

Ralph Michael Casteel went to be with his Lord in Heaven on January 17, 2012. He was born December 31, 1961, at San Pablo AFB in Seville, Spain to Major Wm. R. Casteel and Dorothy Wittenburg Casteel.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Frances Salas Casteel of Benavides, TX; two daughters, Kara Nicole Casteel of Austin, and Alissa Blake Casteel of Seguin; three brothers Wm. M. Casteel and wife, Anna of Wimberley, Wayne Casteel and wife, Leslie of Lockhart, and David Casteel and wife, Kathy of Houston; four sisters, Priscilla Hellums and husband, Terry of Austin, Dixie Grant of McNeil, Jo Ellen Young and husband, Jerry of Baytown, and Carol Martin and husband, Stanley of Lockhart; one brother-in-law Cleo Salas and wife, Molly of Lockhart; two sister-in-laws, Gloria Witt of Round Rock and Angie Pena and husband, Arnold of Benavides; also many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Ralph graduated from Lockhart High School in 1980. He and Frances married in Lockhart in 1982. Most of his career was spent as journeyman electrician. He and Frances recently moved to Benavides where Ralph worked as an electrician at Uranium Energy Corp. Frances teaches science and coaches at Benavides Secondary School.
Ralph will be remembered for his pockets full of chewing gum and a whit as sharp as his duck hunting skills. He was always out-fished by the three women in his family. He was a wonderful landscaper and loved the outdoors. He never carried any animosity unless it had to do with the Dallas Cowboys.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, January 20, 2012, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 22, 2012, at First Assembly of God Church on Hwy. 183, north of Lockhart.

Baby Nathaniel is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Celedonio and wife, Juanita Mendoza of Kyle, TX and Jesus and wife, Maria Bocanegra of Del Valle, TX. Baby Nathaniel was also blessed with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sylvia married Roy B. “Buddy” Fowler on September 14, 1932, and they were married for 67 years until his death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Betty Schroeder, her brothers James L. Moore and W.D. Moore, Jr., and her grandson Hal Segler.  She is survived by one daughter Barbara Wilson of Lockhart.

Above all Sylvia dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. Known as “Mamaw” by her grandchildren, she treasured every moment with them. They include: Winn Schroeder and wife Susan of Lockhart, Christy Braun and husband Dane of Dripping Springs, Kimberly Schroeder of Fort Worth and Nancy Grabarkewitz and husband David of Lockhart. Nancy and her grandmother had a very special relationship and she helped care for Mamaw in her later years.

Sylvia is also survived by four great-grandchildren Lindsey Schroeder of Austin, Cassie Schroeder of Lockhart and Blake and Cole Braun of Dripping Springs.

“Mamaw, we were all lucky to have had you in our lives. You will always be in our hearts.”

The family wishes to thank CTMC Hospice of San Marcos as they saw us through those last weeks. Ann, Roger and Tabby you sustained us.

Liz, Mamie and Tina you became a part of our family as you lovingly cared for Mamaw.

Dr. Barton J. Romanek and his staff and retired doctor P.A. Wales gave expert medical care to Sylvia all of her adult life.

Brittany loved life, but most of all she loved her precious children and being their mother.  Being the mother to Daniel, Cam’ron, and Victoria gave her much joy.  They were the reason she woke up everyday, so she could love and care for them.   Brittany was not only a loving mother; she was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend.  She always had fun in life; she loved the color pink, glitter and lots of bling.  She was unique and her own person, one of her favorite quotes is “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”  Brittany will be missed dearly by all.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Frank Lange and Stepfather, David L. Shuler.  She is survived by her husband, Rufus Morales; three children, Daniel, Cam’ron and Victoria Morales; her grandparents, John and Ann Payne and Peggy Sue Morgan; brothers and sisters; Van Bruno, Karma Delgado, Dominic Bruno and Melissa Shuler; Uncle and Aunts; Rick and Katherine Culletons, Gregory and Angela Lange.  She also has numerous nephews and nieces.
