Johanna Swain

Johanna Swain, 103, a resident of Lytton Springs, TX for the last 16 years, died at home August 19, 2010.

Johanna was born in Bildtzel, Holland April 14, 1907.  She came to the U.S September 29, 1913 with her parents Henry and Jenny Keizer and sister Henrietta.  She became a U.S. citizen August 12, 1927.  They lived in South Dakota for many years where Johanna taught school prior to her marriage to Fred I. Swain March 28, 1931.  They moved to Indiana in 1958 where Fred passed away in 1982.  She moved to Lytton Springs, TX in 1996.  Johanna was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lockhart, TX.

Survivors are sons; Donald (and Lois) Swain of Brentford, SD and Robert (and Lelia) Swain of Norwood, GA; daughters, Betty (and Jerry) Talbert of Alvin, TX and June Wood of Lytton Springs, TX; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and a son-in-law, Art Wood.
