Raquel Recio Reyna, known as Mama Rae to all, peacefully went to heaven at the early age of 65 on Tuesday morning May 22, 2012 at her home in Kyle Texas.

Raquel was born on August 19, 1946 in Lockhart, Texas. She is preceded in death by husband Maclovio Reyna, parents Rogelio and Susie Recio, brothers Rolando and Rogelio Recio, sisters Rosalba and Susie Recio, Susie Henderson, and Ruth Campos.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Claudine and Daniel Gonzales, of Buda; son and daughter-in-law, Alias Anthony and Mary G. Recio, of Kyle; and grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Gonzales, Sophia Raquel Gonzales and John Brandon Vasquez. Sisters, Olga Trelles, Sylvia Recio, Nancy Tamayo, Geneva Franks, Josie Acosta, Norma Recio, Martha Campos, Cynthia Tamayo and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart on Friday, May 25th beginning at 11:00 A.M. for friends with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Celebration service will be held on Saturday, May 26th at 10:00 A.M. at the Word of Life Church located on 400 Old Post Road in Kyle where Mother Rachel was a member and a Woman of Wisdom; burial to follow at San Pablo Cemetery in Lockhart.

Serving as Pallbearers are nephews Jonathan Acosta, Robert Acosta Jr., Michael Acosta, Joseph Dean Rollins, Miguel Segura, Jago Tamayo, Elliot Tamayo and grandson Joshua Gonzales.
