Anita Barroso Chase of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010, at the age of 51. She was born in Shelby, N.C. , on November 26, 1958, to Ortelio and Nellie Barroso.

Anita loved to read and had the most wonderful friends in San Marcos, especially Karen, Ronda and Richard. She will be dearly missed by everyone.

Her husband, Joseph David Chase, whom she married in Boerne, Texas on April 20, 1991, and a daughter, Stephanie Chase preceded her in death. She is survived by her parents; stepdaughter, Tracy Sawyer and husband, Milton of Georgia; stepbrothers, Keith Grigg of North Carolina, and Brian Grigg of Florida; Aunt Betty Conwell and husband, Charlie; cousins, Donna Stats and husband, Ted, Andy Southards and wife, Casey, Barry Hughes and wife, Julia, Lexy Hughes and Tyler Hughes.

Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 P.M., on Wednesday, in the Pennington Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Merlin Starr officiating.
