Kate (Mimi) Graham Leinneweber Dement, 98, died at the Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos, Texas May 26, 2012 due to complications from a heart attack. She was born April 8, 1914 in the Cottonwood Community of Guadalupe County, Texas to James Edward and Alma Bruce (Woodward) Graham. After graduating from San Marcos High School and attending college at Southwest Texas she married William Chester Leinneweber. They spent many wonderful years living in their little rock house where they raised their family. After Chester’s death in 1956 Kate began working and became a successful businesswoman. She is remembered by her family as a strong loving matriarch with a joy for life and a fondness for games. She was an inspiration to all who knew her because of her fierce will to overcome all obstacles and take care of those she loved. She possessed an extraordinary openness of mind and was able to grow and adjust as times changed. She was a long standing member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Chester Leinneweber and John Dement; son, Hal Chester Leinneweber and brothers: Edward Price Graham, John Henry Graham, James Eastwood Graham and Francis Bruce Graham and Travis Woodward Graham.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Ledebur of Burke, Virginia, her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Carolyn Leinneweber of San Marcos, Texas and her brother Vernon (Bunny) Graham of Floresville, Texas. Grandchildren include Graham Chester Leinneweber and his wife, Kelly of Wimberley, Texas, Kathryn Ledebur and her husband, Godofredo Reinicke of Cochabamba, Bolivia, William Cole Leinneweber and his wife, Paige of San Marcos, Lara Ledebur Radley of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Michael Cade Leinneweber and his wife, Tiffany. Great-grandchildren include Justin Leinneweber, Lindsey Leinneweber, Kaitlyn Bowers, Elisa Meruvia, Daniel Leinneweber, Lexie Leinneweber, Nicholas Radley, Christopher Radley, Hannah Leinneweber, Hallie Leinneweber, Sebastian Reinicke, Reid Leinneweber, and Cadan Leinneweber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the San Marcos City Cemetery with a reception following at the First Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 410 W. Hutchison St., San Marcos, TX 78666.

Dear Joan, Danny and family,
What a previlage it was for us to know Mimi. She was such a delight and always found the very best in every situation. I remember when she was served a cheese sandwich on the plane and thought it was the best cheese sandwhich.
There is no doubt there is another angel in heaven.
